But how do you do a speed test on your internet service? It’s easy, quick, and free. You do not have to rely on your internet provider’s technical people, you can find out for yourself and if you have a problem then call the techs. Simply click “Start Test” and the site will read your connection instantly and automatically.

I have tried several of these web sites and all work basically the same. Now granted they are trying to sell you something, maybe like a registry fixer or “speed up” software, while you are on their page using the free speed test. But you don’t have to purchase anything. Tests I have run in the past came back with 3+mb on download and .03+ mb on the upload speed. Yours may vary a lot from this depending on your type of connection or the level of service you are paying for. If you are on a cable internet service you will have much higher speeds than with a DSL. My speed fall with the range my DSL service has promised me.
